Annual Events

Moraga Pear & Wine Festival
The annual Pear and Wine Festival is a community event celebrating the Town’s heritage and fall harvest of grapes and pears. This family-friendly event features children’s activities, community booths, pear pies and contests, fall harvest treats, and more.  The event is typically held on the 4th Saturday in September.

Candidates Night
Every even year in November there is an election of Town Council members.  Moraga Citizens Network hosts a public forum for all the candidates in early October.

Family Campout
Enjoy a suburban camping experience at Rancho Laguna Park with your family, typically held in mid-August! There are family games, entertainment, activities, and crafts for kids. A BBQ dinner, s’mores, and breakfast are provided.

Fourth of July Fireworks
The July 4 celebration typically includes community activities throughout the day at the Moraga Commons Park, starting with a pancake breakfast, followed by many bouncy houses for the kids, bike and dog parades, community booths, and a live concert.  About 9 p.m. people from all over the Lamorinda area and beyond gather to watch a spectacular fireworks display.

Golf Tournament
This popular event, held annually at the  Moraga Country Club in August or September, begins with a shotgun start and includes lunch, several course challenges, refreshments, dinner and, of course, great prizes.  Non-golfers are invited to the dinner.

Concerts in the Park
Every Thursday during the summer, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Moraga Park Foundation hosts a summer concert series at the Moraga Commons.  Folks come with family, friends, snacks, blanket or lawn chairs to the grassy hillside in front of the bandshell to enjoy a relaxing, fun-filled evening. Food is available for purchase from on-site food trucks and vendors.  Picnics are welcome though.

Hacienda Nights
Hacienda Nights feature food trucks, lawn games and fun for all ages at Moraga’s beautiful Hacienda de las Flores during the summer. The Parks and Recreation Department hosts these evenings from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Farmer’s Market
Over 40 local California farmers and gourmet food purveyors arrive every Sunday and sell between 9am to 1pm the freshest fruits and vegetables grown locally, as well as an outstanding selection of prepared foods. For more information, click here.

Holiday Tree Lighting

To ring in the holiday season, the giant tree in the Moraga Commons is lighted with sparkling-colored lights. In early December, Santa arrives at the park to help light the beautiful tree while guests enjoy holiday music, cookies and hot cocoa.
