In order to increase the safety of our town, the residents of Moraga, in partnership with the Moraga Police Department and the Moraga Community Foundation, have launched a Community Watch Fundraising Program. The Moraga Police Department (MPD) plans to install video cameras at each of five strategic high-traffic locations in Moraga. Each location will include a license plate recognition camera as well as a high definition color overview camera, directed at vehicles both entering and leaving our Moraga community. A decline in home and auto thefts due to using this equipment has been reported in both Lafayette and Orinda.

The Town has funded one pair of system cameras. The purchase and installation at the 4 remaining access point locations is estimated by the MPD to cost approximately $60,000. All donations, large and small, should be sent to the Moraga Community Foundation, which is a 501.c3 charitable organization. Please go to for information on how to donate.

Our Mission

Moraga Citizens Network is a grassroots organization dedicated to encouraging participation in the life of Moraga in these ways: First, we provide or direct members to non-partisan, factual information on current issues. Secondly, we assist the town staff in publicizing public meetings and town-sponsored events when needed. Finally, Moraga Citizens Network announces many recreational, educational, and fund raising events offered in Moraga by the Town's service organizations, library, non-profit organizations, and Saint Mary's College - all towards the end of promoting participation in the Moraga community. Our primary tool is a bi-monthly e-bulletin called The MCN Link, which you can receive by signing up here.
